Apple iPhone 15: USB Type-C, Models, Camera Features, Everything You Need to Know

Apple’s iPhone 15 is set for launch in September, however, speculations concerning its upcoming features of the new models are already in full swing. Remaining consistent with its customary pattern, Apple is projected to introduce four fresh models: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Notably, the Pro models are purportedly in line to receive a series of features that won’t be replicated in the other variants. It is anticipated that both the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will retain a design closely resembling their predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. Display dimensions of 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches are expected for the two models, respectively, furnished with a distinctive Dynamic Island cutout to house the camera and Face ID apparatus.

Moreover, whispers suggest that the Pro models will boast sleeker bezels compared to their forerunners, while the displays will sport refined, curved edges, imbuing their aesthetics with an air of sophistication. A noticeable alteration could be witnessed in the material employed for the side frames.

Sources indicate that Apple may favour titanium over stainless steel, renowned for its lightweight nature and durability. The incorporation of titanium might potentially escalate production costs due to its higher price point.

Reportedly under consideration by Apple is the inclusion of a novel feature for the mute switch. This customisable button could oversee diverse functions, such as activating silent mode, the flashlight, and Focus mode, and even providing access to the Translate app and magnifier within the camera app.

The objective behind this innovation is to streamline user interactions, ultimately augmenting the overall usability of the iPhone 15 series. Yet another noteworthy alteration projected across the entirety of the iPhone 15 lineup is the substitution of the Lightning port with a USB-C port. This modification, a response to regulatory stipulations in Europe, will also find traction in other global markets, including India.

In a potential milestone upgrade, the Pro Max model may integrate a periscope lens into its camera setup, enabling optical zoom capabilities of up to 5-6x. However, it is plausible that this feature might not make its way to the Pro model until 2023.

In addition, reports suggest that the devices could house an enhanced rear-camera LiDAR Scanner from Sony, promising heightened depth-sensing capabilities. Beneath the surface, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are presumed to house Apple’s next-generation A17 chipset. This marks the maiden appearance of an A-series Apple chip utilising a 3-nanometer process, thus pushing the boundaries of smartphone performance even further.
