Police arrested three men with narcotics substances, allegedly containing shabu, with an estimated market value of BD33,000.
The suspects, all Asian nationals, were caught by the Police of the Anti-Narcotics Department of the General Department of Investigation and Criminal Evidence.
The Head of the Narcotics Crimes Unit said the Public Prosecution had opened an investigation into the incident. The arrests, the top official said, followed an investigation into a tip-off received at the department.
Prosecutors said the suspects had confessed to their crime when confronted with the seized materials and other evidence. The Public Prosecution has ordered the suspects to seven days of detention pending further investigation. Prosecutors said they are completing procedures to refer the suspect to a criminal trial.
