Dubai’s RTA Announces WhatsApp Service for Booking, Reschedule Driving Test

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has taken a new step towards enhancing its digital services by introducing a new feature that allows individuals to book and reschedule driving test appointments through WhatsApp.

The service, accessible via the RTA’s Mahboub Chatbot on 0588009090, aims to provide users with quick and secure access to the RTA’s many offerings, a statement by the Dubai Media Office reads.

“Launching the new driving test appointments via WhatsApp aims to ease customers’ access to various RTA services. The newly introduced services enable users to conveniently schedule their driving tests and make the necessary payments directly through RTA’s Mahboub Chatbot. With pre-authenticated user phone numbers and registered information, there is no need to rely on the official application or visit the RTA’s website,” Mira Ahmed Al Sheikh, the Director of the Smart Services Department at the RTA’s Corporate Technical Support Services Sector, said.

The service, designed to be interactive, allows users to schedule their driving test appointments and pay the associated fees using the pre-authenticated system.

Al Sheikh said that Mahboub could handle customer queries related to the RTA’s information, procedures, and interactive services.

The chatbot employs continuous learning capabilities, enabling it to learn from previous conversations and respond more accurately to inquiries.

To cater to a wide audience, Mahboub is available in both Arabic and English.

Al Sheikh noted ongoing efforts to enhance the chatbot’s generative artificial intelligence techniques, enabling it to better understand natural human languages and provide responses that resemble those of humans.

Data privacy protection measures are diligently implemented to ensure the security of digital advancements. Additionally, work is underway to introduce digital identity into the customer journey, aiming to enhance the overall experience and provide faster and more secure access to services.

With over 250 informational and procedural services available, Mahboub offers a comprehensive range of features through the WhatsApp channel.

These services include paying public parking fees, inquiring about vehicle ownership renewal, accessing Nol Card services, marine transportation services, and more.

The RTA’s commitment to using artificial intelligence technologies aligns with the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, which aims to position the UAE as a global leader in AI by 2031.
