Fake Website Scam Busted in Oman, Five Arrested

Five people were arrested for electronic fraud by creating a fake website to lure victims, said the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

ROP said in a statement :”The Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations arrests five people of Arab nationalities for committing fraud by creating a fake website identical to one of the official websites with the aim of luring victims to provide their bank information in exchange for certain services. They would later seize sums of money from their bank accounts and invest them in the digital currency market. Legal procedures are being completed against them.”
