Fatima Al Mutawaj has become the first Bahraini basketball international referee in the history of sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The trailblazing umpire has received her international licence after passing all the requirements and tests set by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
Al Mutawaj will now officiate matches as an international referee during the period from 2023 until 2025.
Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) Chairman Waleed Al Alawi has congratulated her on her international achievement and wished her every success in her sports career.
He reiterated the association’s support for Bahrain referees so that they can perform well in local and overseas competitions.
