Oman: 64 illegal migrants arrested, 60 deported

A total of 64 illegal migrants were arrested, while 60 were deported last week by the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

According to statistics released by the Directorate of Combating Infiltration in the Directorate General of Operations, “Last week, in cooperation with other military and security authorities, 64 infiltrators of different nationalities were arrested in several states in the Sultanate, for entering the country illegally.”

The 60 illegal migrants were deported after the necessary legal measures were taken after coordinating with the concerned embassies.

Also, among those arrested last week, were 29 illegal migrants from Africa. They were deported through the Muscat International Airport, in accordance with a judgement passed by the judicial authorities.
