The Pakistani rupee fell 3.1 per cent to 108.095 against the greenback on Wednesday, its lowest level since December 2013. The currency is said to have dropped the most in nearly a decade.

With the UAE dirham pegged to the dollar, Pakistanis working in the UAE, as well as those based in Europe and Africa, are able to remit more money home out of their monthly earnings.

Sudhesh Giriyan, COO of Xpress Money said the depreciation will work in favour of Pakistani exports and that the Pakistani community in the UAE will enjoy a “huge bonanza.”
