Paradise at The Domain

Gulf Insider meets Vie Lifestyle Lab’s new spa manager, Ferdinand Taaca

Vie Lifestyle Lab Spa Manager Ferdinand Taaca has been in the job just four months and he’s certainly ‘hit the ground running’, introducing a new menu, new products, new treatments, and a new loyalty program for regular clients.

Ferdinand graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy and has been involved in spa management for over twelve years, six of which were spent at  Hyatt International and five years at Meliá Hotels, the luxury Spanish brand. He says he very much likes Bahrain and having spent time in Dubai, believes the people here are a lot friendlier and accessible.

He enthusiastically tells us about the ‘VIE Vitality’ treatment that he personally designed, a full body massage lasting 90 minutes and costing BD49 net. It combines different techniques including Shiatsu, Swedish, Reiki, Lomilomi, Thai, and aromatherapy.

The menu of available treatments is enticing – facials for anti-aging and purifying, 8 different massage treatments and 7 types of body treatments. There are 4 VIE ‘rituals’, various beauty treatments, and there’s a gym for those seeking physical fitness.

The spa offers clients access to their multi jet hydrotherapy tub, which is a powerful underwater massage tub which provides anti-cellulite and lymphatic draining.

Something definitely worth trying is Iyashi Dome, an infra-red sauna. A half hour session helps users lose up to 600 calories and boost their metabolism. It’s a unique Japanese technology and in addition to aiding weight loss it relieves muscular tension and will improve sleep.

And to encourage regular visits, they offer a reward program whereby after three treatments the customer gets the fourth treatment free!

VIE Lifestyle Lab, exclusively in Bahrain, is now offering La Vallée skincare treatments. The luxury Swiss product have chosen The Domain to be their brand ambassador. These exclusive products include a stem cell facial that, Ferdinand tells us, actually reverses the aging effect!!! They also produce a caviar treatment with marine DNA that has a lifting and detoxifying effect.

Also at The Domain…

The Domain is introducing “Romance at The Domain” where couples can book the pool on the 36th floor all to themselves and enjoy the most amazing views across Manama as they swim and splash around in complete privacy, sip Champagne if they fancy, and afterwards delight in an exclusive 60-minute couples massage followed by the option of a romantic dinner for two and, if they wish, stay the night in one of the property’s beautiful rooms or suites – The Domain can be an extremely romantic place.

Also, due to popular demand The Domain is reintroducing their Tuesday classic movie nights where aficionados gather to experience some of the great movie classics. This is an inexpensive night at just BD5 and comes with a soft drink and popcorn (or BD10 for cheese and wine). After the movie there’s a special package for those wishing to stay for dinner.
