Qatar Airways To Expand Miami Flights to Ten Weekly in January 2024

Doha-based Qatar Airways is increasing its frequency to Miami as it looks to up capacity to multiple destinations worldwide this winter, including Amsterdam, Bangkok, Barcelona, and Belgrade.

From January 13th, the Middle-Eastern carrier will increase daily service between Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH) and Miami International Airport (MIA) from daily to ten weekly.

The move is expected to draw even more travellers through its Doha hub, which feeds into 170 destinations worldwide. It is a perfect transit point for those travelling from the United States East Coast towards Africa, Asia, and Oceania.

The extra flights will depart from Florida on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, using the Airbus A350-1000, following the below schedule:

  • QR782, departing Miami International Airport at 22:40, touching down at Doha Hamad International Airport at 20:30 the following day. Block time of 13 hours and 50 minutes.
  • QR781, pushing back from Doha at 01:10 and arriving in Miami at 09:30. Block time of 16 hours, 20 minutes.

These extra flights, alongside the usual cabins, will also offer Qatar Airways’ famous QSuite, one of the best business-class products in the sky today. Each seat provides aisle access, a fixed table, and – as the name “suite” suggests – a privacy door. Excitingly, the centre suites can be opened up to make groups of two or four suites, perfect for families or business meetings.

Miami is just one of five destinations to see substantial capacity increases this Northern Hemisphere winter. With Bangkok, Amsterdam, Belgrade, and Barcelona seeing QR looking to cash in on pent-up travel demand post-pandemic. Let’s check it out:

  • Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), Thailand, will boost from 35 direct flights to 38 direct flights a week, increasing from December 15th this year.
  • Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS), The Netherlands, will see an increase from its ten weekly service to double daily from December 16th.
  • Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG), Serbia, currently served once daily, will increase to a ten-weekly service two days before Christmas, December 23rd.
  • Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN), Spain, travellers will have plenty of opportunities to experience Las Ramblas, with the carrier increasing from 18 weekly services to a tripe daily connection from January 1st.
