Qatar net worth $355 billion

Qatar, a country with a population smaller than Houston, Texas has amassed $355 billion in assets around the globe, making its Sovereign Wealth Fund the 15th largest in the world, according to the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute.
The country has deployed billions in trophy investments in Europe such as German carmakers, Italian fashion designers, and football clubs. It has also made huge investments in Russia, agreeing to buy 24.9 % of the St. Petersburg airport in July as well as committing $2 billion to the state-run Russian Investment Fund in 2014.
The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) is scouring the globe for possible investments. Fund executives said in 2014 they planned to place as much as $20 billion in Asia over six years, and expand its offices in Beijing and New Delhi.
