Kuwait was affected by a sandstorm yesterday with authorities advising the public to be cautious when using highways because of the low visibility caused by weather instability due to high winds. Residents were urged to call the emergency hotline (112) for any kind of assistance needed.
In addition, a press statement by Kuwait’s Fire Department implored boat owners not to go to sea during the unstable weather, urging them to follow the weather forecast through available channels. Winds at speed of more than 60km/h were forecasted yesterday with low vertical visibility to less than 1,000 meters in some areas.
High winds and sandstorms are common unstable weather features in the Sarayat season which officially started yesterday and will last until the middle of May.
