Three months jail for jaywalkers in Oman

Jaywalkers in Oman now face a legal fine of OMR10 for jaywalkers rising to three months in jail for repeat offenders.

Under Royal Decree 38/2016 walking on the road is defined by crossing on the places appropriate for pedestrians, including marked pedestrian crossings, squares, corridors, tunnels and bridges; however jaywalking has now become a problem for the Kingdom “creating unnecessary harm and risk” which explains the severity of the fine.
