UAE astronaut selected for six-month ISS mission

UAE astronaut Sultan Al-Neyadi has been selected for a mission to spend six months aboard the International Space Station (ISS), WAM reported on Monday.

He will take part in the NASA mission which plans to set off in the spring of 2023. The mission will place the UAE on the list of only 11 countries that have sent their astronauts on long-term missions in space.

Al-Neyadi is due to set a new record for the longest time an Arab astronaut has spent aboard the station.
