ow you can watch the news in VR

CNN has released a new virtual reality platform to deliver the news from around the world through live streams, while also producing weekly virtual reality experiences.

The new offering will be available across multiple devices including your laptop, Samsung GearVR, Oculus Rift and Google Daydream headsets, as well as CNN’s iOS and Android apps. CNN now claim its app is the third largest mobile VR app worldwide, only behind Facebook and YouTube.

While VR is certainly a growing trend in the telco and tech space, CNN is not the first broadcaster to enter the space. The Huffington Post, the Economist, and The New York Times have all created their own 360-degree video content in the past year.

Samsung unveils Galaxy Tab S3 and  Galaxy Book

Samsung has unveiled two new tablets – the Galaxy Tab S3, and a laptop-tablet hybrid called the Samsung Galaxy Book.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, which is available in both black and silver color options, pairs a new glass-backed, metal-edged high-end design with an impressive collection of specs. With a 9.7-inch, HDR-enhanced Super AMOLED display offering a bright, detailed 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution, the tablet, which is a mere 6.0mm thick and looks like the Galaxy S7 smartphone, is finished with a massive 6,000mAh battery that’s good for 10 hours of heavy use.

Unlike the single form of the Galaxy Tab S3, the Samsung Galaxy Book comes in two sizes, with a 10.6-inch model lining up alongside a 12-inch device. Both come boxed with an attachable keyboard with integrated track pad, making it easier for users to complete work tasks on the move and essentially making the slates full laptop replacements.
