Three Emirati children, aged 6 to 13, tragically lost their lives due to suffocation after a fire broke out in the annex of their grandfather’s house in Al Ain.
The heartbreaking incident occurred around 9:30am on Friday in the Nahil area. Residents of Al Ain woke up to the devastating news of the deaths of three children from the Al Kaabi family.
According to the children’s uncle, the victims were identified as Thiab Saeed Mohammed Al Kaabi, 13, Salem Gharib Mohammed Al Kaabi, 10, and his younger brother, Harib, 6.
Expressing his faith in God’s will, the uncle thanked Allah and prayed for the children to be granted a place in paradise while asking for strength and patience for their grieving family.
He recounted that the fire was caused by a short circuit in one of the annex rooms where the children were sleeping. The smoke spread rapidly, leading to their suffocation.
Authorities were immediately alerted, and the children’s grandfather attempted to rescue them, suffering minor burns in the process. He received medical treatment and is now in stable condition.
Meanwhile, authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
