4th Edition of Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, the Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship concluded its 4th edition by honoring 8 Bahraini entrepreneurs.

Organized annually by the Labour Fund “Tamkeen”, this platform sheds light on Bahraini entrepreneurs and celebrates their achievements. The 8 winners came from the fields of medicine, architecture, technology, education, event management, and food production.

The Micro-Enterprise of the Year Award

Doctori Online Services
Founded by Ahmed Al Awadhi and Ahmed Mahmood, Doctori Online Services is Bahrain’s first telemedicine platform designed to connect patients with doctors from across the world. The Bahraini micro-enterprise was initially established as a psychotherapy and counselling application, and it has soon grown to include several medical fields.

The Startup of the Year Award

Shepherd Design Studio
The Bahrain-based multi-disciplinary design startup was established by Abdulla bin Hindi, Rashed Al Araifi and Ahmed Al Mannai to provide creative schemes ranging from architectural, spatial and digital product-based outcomes. Shepherd Design Studio has previously won the 1st Place Best Pavilion in the Bahrain International Garden Show, 2019 and the 2nd place in the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition, 2019.

The SME of the Year Award

Lalabella Events and Flowers
Founded by Nahla Al Mahmod who has previously received the Woman Achiever Award, LalaBella Events and Flowers is a one-stop-shop for memorable event experiences, bespoke floral arrangements, high quality chocolate saviors and seasonal giveaways.

The Enterprise of the Year with International Footprint Award

Kalaam Telecom
Launched in 2005 by Nezar Al Saie, Kalaam is Bahrain’s first alternative licensed telecommunications provider and the leading ICT managed solutions provider for business in Bahrain and the GCC region. The Bahrain-based international enterprise has previously won several award in its field including the Fastest Growing Telecom Award in 2018 and 2019 along with the International Finance Award and the Best Telecom Solution Provider, 2019.

Sustainability in Business Award

All Food for Food Stuff
Founded by Bahraini entrepreneur Mohammed Abdulaal, All Food for Food Stuff is a food production company that imports and distributes food items. In 2017, All Food for Food Stuff has received the Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship under the SME of the Year category.

Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Clever Play
The winner of the 4th edition’s Female of the Year Award, Sh. Latifa Al Khalifa, is the founder of “Clever Play”; a Bahraini female-led startup that specializes in educating and equipping the next generations with relevant in-demand STEM and STEAM digital skills for future jobs. The EDTech startup has won multiple awards including the National Winner- Entrepreneurship World Cup- Global Entrepreneurship Congress.

Global Enterprise of the Year Award

Villa Mamas
The 4th edition has introduced an eighth category; the Global Enterprise of the Year Award which honors an established Bahraini global enterprise that reflects and interjects the Bahraini identity and culture into its products and services, and contributes to enhancing Bahrain’s regional and international entrepreneurial status through exporting globally competitive Bahrain-made products. This year, the Award was given out to Bahraini entrepreneur Roaya Saleh; the founder of Villa Mamas which is an authentic restaurant that serves Bahraini and Persian dishes in two main branches in Bahrain and London.

The Lifetime Achievement Award

H.E. Farouk Yusuf AlMoayyed
In recognition of his remarkable contribution to business over 39 years, H.E Farouk AlMoayyed was granted the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in the 4th edition of the Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship.

The 4th edition of the Award received more than 180 applications from Bahrain-based enterprises competing across 8 categories.
