The final off take agreement to localize at least seven insulin products was signed in a ceremony held on the sidelines of the Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh on Tuesday.
The signing ceremony was held under the patronage of Minister of Health Fahad Al-Jalajel and in the presence of Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef.
The agreement was concluded in partnership with the National Unified Procurement Company for Medical Supplies (NUPCO), Sudair Pharmaceutical Company, Sanofi, and Novo Nordisk. This agreement reflects Saudi Arabia’s efforts to enhance its production capabilities and its commitment to creating an attractive investment environment and thus strengthening its position as a regional center for the pharmaceutical industry in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The agreement aims to enhance the efforts of the government agencies, represented by the Ministries of Health, Investment, and Industry and Mineral Resources, in localizing the medical and pharmaceutical industry, contributing to achieving drug and health security in the Kingdom. It also aims to enhance the Kingdom’s leadership in the medical and pharmaceutical industry to meet domestic pharmaceutical needs and requirements.
