• Air India operates four flights from Delhi to Tel Aviv every week

Air India announced cancelling its flight from Delhi to Tel Aviv, citing operational reasons.

The cancellation comes against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the region.

In an update on its website, Air India said it has cancelled its flights AI139 from Delhi to Tel Aviv and AI140 from Tel Aviv to Delhi on August 1 due to operational reasons.

“Passengers having confirmed bookings for travel on these two flights, will be provided with a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges,” the airline said.

Though no announcement was made on flights in the subsequent days, industry sources said the flight suspension could continue till the situation in the region improves.

search on the airline site for bookings for Saturday, August 3, also threw up a ‘no flight on outbound date’ message.

Air India had also cancelled its flights to the Israeli capital for several days in the wake of the initial breakout of the conflict with the Palestinian extremist group.
