Indian carrier Akasa Air announced plans for launching daily direct flights to Abu Dhabi from Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.

The flight services are slated to commence from March 1, 2025.

The new routes will complement Akasa Air’s daily service between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi commenced in July 2024, and will further strengthen its presence in the UAE, the airline said.

Bookings for the new flight routes are now open, it added.

Akasa said the strategic expansion plan is fuelled by a favourable response to its Mumbai-Abu Dhabi services, and flourishing demand for travel to UAE from all corners of the country.

“We are thrilled to ramp up our network in UAE with the addition of daily direct flights connecting Abu Dhabi with two prominent Indian cities – Bengaluru and Ahmedabad,” said Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air.

“The expansion is in line with our aim of making air travel accessible for a greater number of Indians by enhancing international air connectivity from the length and breadth of the country,” he said.

India has emerged as a leading market for tourism to Abu Dhabi owing to its proximity, culture, and larger than life experiential offerings.

Akasa said travellers who wish to explore Abu Dhabi can choose to plan their travel with Akasa Holidays which offers customisable and all-inclusive holiday packages at affordable prices. Akasa Air currently connects five international cities such as Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Doha and Kuwait City
