The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) has announced the commencement of the annual two-month ban on catching, trading, and selling crab, effective yesterday and continuing until May 15.

This prohibition aligns with Edict (52) of 2016, which prohibits fishing, trading, and selling crab during this period.

Emphasising the Kingdom’s commitment to safeguarding marine wealth and biodiversity, the SCE underscored the importance of halting fishing operations during the crab breeding season.

Marine wealth teams, in collaboration with relevant authorities, will monitor compliance with the ban to prevent any infringements.
