Bahrain: 198 Overseas Filipino Workers Repatriated

The Philippine Embassy in Manama facilitated the repatriation of 198 land-based Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

This includes 24 OFWs from the Cayman Islands and 1 from Turks and Caicos who transited through the Bahrain International Airport from London, back to the Philippines.

Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver led the repatriation effort and facilitated the approval for the flight with both Philippine authorities and Gulf Air.

Gulf Air Flight 154 was the only commercial flight allowed to land at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) during the one-week moratorium on inbound commercial flights put in place by the Philippine Government until May 10, 2020.
