UAE: COVID-19 patients report fast recovery with Sotrovimab
COVID-19 patients in UAE have reported fast recovery after using Sotrovimab, according to Khaleej Times.
Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) reported a case of a 36-year-old Emirati who began experiencing symptoms and was immediately admitted to the ICU and prescribed Sotrovimab. The patient was discharged within four days.
The patient’s wife and mother began experiencing symptoms soon after and were administered similar treatment which lead to their discharge four days later.
Another patient reported recovery “almost immediately after receiving Sotrovimab”.
The new anti-viral treatment was approved by the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) for treating COVID-19 under an emergency use authorisation.
It contributed to the reduction of cases requiring hospitalisation for more than 24 hours and deaths from COVID-19 by up to 85% when given as an early treatment method.
