Bahrain: 4,735 Mask-Related Violations Registered So Far

“A total of 4,735 mask-related violations in public places were registered since the decision was implemented,” stated Public Security Assistant Chief for Operations and Training Affairs, Brigadier-General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa.

He confirmed the continuation of the implementation of the instructions of the General Security Presidency, regarding taking legal measures against violators which, he added, aimed at strengthening the commitment to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The Northern Governorate Police Directorate recorded 1579 violations, the Capital Governorate Police Directorate recorded 1166 violations.

The Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate recorded 958 violations, and 803 violations were registered by the Southern Governorate Police.

The Operations Department headed by General Security recorded 167 violations, while the General Administration of Ports Security recorded 62 violations.

He said that besides applying the law to violators of precautionary measures, awareness campaigns were continuing and targeting various segments of society to enhance awareness among citizens and residents of the importance of commitment and support of state efforts to eliminate the virus.
