A total of 800 kilos of marine pollutants were removed from Sitra Seaport.

This was announced by officials at the Bahrain Diving Volunteer Team (BDVT) as part of their national undersea cleaning campaign to clean the sea, ports, and beaches.

Nearly 100 bags, 280 kilos of steel and aluminum as well as 520 kilos of plastic wastes were removed.

The campaign which aims to clean up the sea, coasts and ports of Bahrain began on August 16th and will continue until the 21st of September.

Around 50 divers and more than 250 volunteers from different age groups of citizens and residents participated in the campaign, including new volunteers from Saudi Arabia.
