Bahrain Autistic Society followed up on an incident where a 9-year-old autistic child was severely beaten by a bus driver.
The Asian bus driver was tasked with the responsibility of transporting the student to the rehabilitation centre during which the incident took place.
The guardian of the battered child was notified of the incident and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Public Prosecution stated that the behaviour of the bus driver is “unacceptable’’ considering he was entrusted to protect the child and will face legal consequences for his actions.
The Association stated that the ‘’shameful act’’ will create psychological suffering in the child adding that the bus driver should have taken into consideration the disorder of the child.
