Bahrain Airport: Flights Diverted As Oil Leaks On Runway

The Bahrain airport runway was closed due to an oil leak from a plane which arrived yesterday evening in the Kingdom of Bahrain, according to Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

The runway was closed from 4.27 pm for an hour in a precautionary measure for the safety of passengers. Five flights were diverted to Dammam Airport and another to Kuwait International Airport.

The Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) announced that it had resumed its normal operations at the Bahrain International Airport, following the closure of the runway. It announced that it had taken all necessary and required measures in such cases to remove the leaked oil from the runway and ensure safe plane landing and takeoff.
