Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Essam Khalaf stated that the tender for the development of Al-Fateh highway was announced for bids planning to kick off the work in the first quarter of 2020 after it has been awarded to one of the companies, pointing out that the project is included in the GCC marshall-style aid and is funded by Saudi Fund for Development.

Al Fateh Street is considered the main route of traffic for the east of the capital, Manama, and is part of a larger project, Manama Ring Road, which aims to create flawless traffic without stopping in the capital. The Ministry is preparing to develop Al-Fateh towards Bahrain Bay and Bahrain Financial Harbour via Manama North causeway and thus reduce congestion on King Faisal Street, then Al- Farooq intersection and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Salman highway connecting again with Shaikh Isa bin Salman highway.
