Bahrain records 1,579 coronavirus cases from 20,091 tests

Out of 20,091 COVID-19 tests carried out on 17 May 2021, 1579 new cases have been detected among 559 expatriate workers, 1011 new cases are contacts of active cases and 8 travel-related.

There were 1760 recoveries, increasing total recoveries to 185,619.

There are currently 180 cases in a critical condition, and 313 cases receiving treatment. 16,005 are stable out of a total of 16,185 active cases.

The ministry also announced 6 deaths in the past 24 hours. No information was provided if they suffered any pre-existing conditions.
