Saudia plane veers off Manila airport runway

A Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) plane, flying out of Riyadh, veered off the runway of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Monday afternoon.

According to Nimfa Ravelo’s report on dzBB’s Super Radyo, the Boeing 777-368 aircraft with flight number SV862 landed in Manila at around 1:47 p.m. and was en route to NAIA Terminal 1 when the incident occurred.

Six right landing gears of the plane went off the pavement at the end portion of the taxiway onto the grassy portion, causing its wheels to get stuck in the process. All 420 passengers and crew of the flight were safe. They were immediately shuttled from the site going to Terminal 1 where passengers were taken to get their baggage.

Saudia confirmed that the plane skidded off the runway leading to the terminal after safely landing at Ninoy Aqino International airport.
