Bahrain: Batelco to Launch Service for Recharging Public Bus Cards via Text Message
Batelco, part of the Beyon Group, have signed a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and Bahrain Public Transport Company, operator of Bahrain public buses, at Batelco’s headquarters in Hamala.
Through this agreement, Batelco will provide a new channel for recharging Go cards, enabling their Prepaid and Lucky customers to top-up their cards via SMS text message.
By launching this service, new and existing Batelco and Lucky customers will be able to recharge their Go cards by using the balance available in their Prepaid accounts. New customers may visit any Batelco or Lucky branch to sign up and get a Go card with two free trips. The recharge process is simple, customers only need to send an SMS with the required amount for the Bus fee along with their Go card number to 88188.
