“Around 400 to 1000 tons of vegetables and fruits are made available in the local market on a daily basis,” Vegetable and fruit dealer, Redha Al-Bustani said.

He assured that there was no reason for concerns by those who store food, fruits and vegetables fearing from rumoured a soon-to-happen curfew in line with the breakout of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

Al-Bustani confirmed that, based on the directives of His Royal Highness, First Deputy Prime Minister, Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the vegetable and fruit traders have taken all precautions to provide abundant quantities in the local market, assuring consumers that there is no need to worry about the supply.

He praised the leadership’s efforts made to take various measures to overcome the epidemic challenge, he also lauded the efforts made by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, in coordination with the merchants, to ensure that there is a strategic stock and stability in the market.
