Bahrain: bWallet Customers Complain of Missing OTPs

Users of bWallet App, one of Bahrain’s leading e-wallet applications, have been disappointed for weeks. Users have not been receiving One Time Passwords (OTPs) needed for transactions, and for many who were increasingly relying on the App to make cashless payments, this is a great hassle.

bWallet allows peer-to-peer money transfer, cashless payments to merchants, international money transfers and much more – all through smartphones.

The only problem is that OTPs are not being generated and user payments (and money) have been stuck.

According to a company spokesman, the OTP problem is only for those customers who want to change their phone devices and not for all bWallet users.

“We haven’t disabled all OTPs but only ones that are sent out during change device requests. This was initiated as we saw incidents of unauthorized attempts. We are hardening the security around this process and will enable OTP for this process again before end of the Month.” he said.

Any bWallet user who is facing any issue regarding this can call the call center at +973 17299717 which has been helping customers access their bWallet app on their new phones.
