The owner of a café who failed to abide by the precautionary measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 has been ordered to pay a BD2,000 fine.
The prosecutor for ministries and public entities said that the action was taken after health inspectors reported that the café allowed more than six people to sit at a table, which meant more than 50% of its seating capacity.
The case was referred to the criminal court that today issued its verdict, he added.
