Bahrain: Citizens to benefit from increased subsidy

Minister of Labour and Social Development Jamil bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan has announced 15 indirect support programmes and raising the overall annual subsidies by 7% to a total of BD 435 million.

The Minister of Labour and Social Development highlighted the government’s indirect support; 15 indirect programmes, including educational, health, electricity and water services, foodstuff, social insurance, a monthly salary support for Bahraini employees in the private sector when recruited through the National Employment Programme housing, oil by-products, and care for the elderly.

He noted that the government raised the total annual subsidization amount by 7% bringing it up from BD 385 million in 2018 to BD 435 million in 2019.
