Bahrain: Coffee shop fined for violating COVID-19 guidelines

The Lower Criminal Court ruled today that an owner of a coffee shop be fined BD 3000, the manager BD 1000 and the café BD 5000 for serving hookah to customers outside the coffee shop in violation of a ministerial decision to close commercial outlets as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

In another incident, the court fined a defendant BD 1000 for not complying with home quarantine.

The Public Prosecution launched an investigation into notifications reported by the Public Health Directorate against 14 persons who did not adhere to home confinement. It questioned them and released them on a bail pending investigation.
