Bahrain: Commercial Stores Closure Effective Tomorrow

“The closure decision is effective from 7pm tomorrow (March 26), until 7pm (April 9),” announced the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism about the decision to close industrial and commercial stores that provide goods or services directly to customers.

The Ministry added that this came in implementation of the decisions of the Coordination Committee chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, First Deputy Prime Minister, and in implementation of the decision to close all shops from March 26 to next April 9 and only provide delivery service, except for a number of stores like hypermarkets, groceries, clod stores, bakeries, pharmacies, bank branches and banks in line with the precautionary measures and preventive measures taken to limit and prevent the spread of the (COVID-19).

The Ministry noted that the excluded commercial were Hypermarkets, supermarkets, clod stores, groceries, stores selling vegetables, fish and fresh meat, manual and automatic bakeries, fuel stations and natural gas stations, hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and optical stores, banks, banks’ branches and money exchanges, administrative offices of institutions and companies, the activity of which is not directly related to clients, shops operating in importing, exporting and distributing goods, repair shops and garages for vehicles and spare parts shops, construction and maintenance sector and factories.
