The Kingdom of Bahrain concluded its participation in the 3rd Asian Youth Games, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with a total of 13 medals: five gold, five silver, and three bronze, placing second among Arab countries in the overall standings.

Bahrain’s athletes achieved strong results across several disciplines, reflecting the continued development of Bahraini sport and its growing presence at the continental level.

In weightlifting and mixed martial arts, Bahrain won five gold medals, including two in weightlifting and three in mixed martial arts, highlighting the success of structured youth training and sustained support for athlete development.

The silver medals were earned in 3×3 basketball, endurance, weightlifting, mixed martial arts, and pencak silat, while the three bronze medals came in handball, jiu-jitsu, and Muay Thai, all showcasing the skill and determination of Bahraini competitors.

In endurance, Bahrain’s team secured silver after finishing second overall, completing the 119-kilometre course in 15 hours, 58 minutes, and 28 seconds. The riders demonstrated teamwork, tactical awareness, and endurance throughout a demanding race.

These achievements reflect the vision of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), whose leadership continues to support young athletes and foster sporting excellence.

As the Games concluded, the performances of Bahraini athletes consolidated the Kingdom’s position as a rising sporting nation and underscored the effectiveness of its national sports strategy in preparing a new generation capable of representing Bahrain with distinction in international competitions.
