The High Appeals Court has issued its ruling in the case of a fight stemming from a dispute over the sale of an ice block in the Manama Central Market.
The incident, which resulted in the defendant stabbing the victim, causing permanent injuries, has concluded with a reduced sentence for the 44-yearold defendant.
The High Criminal Court had initially sentenced the defendant to seven years imprisonment, followed by deportation, and confiscation of the murder weapon.
However, the High Appeals Court, after reviewing the appeal, has reduced the sentence to five years imprisonment. The deportation order and confiscation of the weapon remain in effect. The court’s findings detailed an altercation that began with an argument.
