Bahrain: Crab Exports May be Banned

Essam Khalaf, Minister of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning, praised the proposal submitted by Muharraq Municipal Council to ban the export of crabs out of the Kingdom.

Responding to the council’s recommendation, he said that the proposal comes in line with the Ministry’s vision, represented in marine wealth, to regulate crabs fisheries.

He pointed out that this comes with the aim of inspecting the impact of the export ban on reducing the depletion of this important component in the marine environment.
