In a bid to enhance road safety and enforce traffic regulations, the General Directorate of Traffic has intensified its crackdown on unregistered motorcycles and riders who violate traffic rules.

During a recent two-week campaign, authorities seized 28 motorcycles, bringing the total number of unregistered bikes confiscated this year to 156.

The General Directorate of Traffic emphasised in a press statement the seriousness of these violations, highlighting the dangers posed by unregistered motorcycles, especially in residential areas.

It urged riders to adhere to traffic rules and regulations, including obtaining a driving license and wearing a helmet, to ensure the safety of all road users.

The Directorate also stressed the importance of parental responsibility in preventing such reckless behaviour, which puts both riders and others at risk of accidents.
