Based on the recommendation of the Government Executive Committee, the Cabinet approved a draft resolution to amend the fees related to the services of the General Directorate for Nationality, Passports, and Residency Affairs, which was submitted by the Minister of Interior.

In this regard, the charge of one-year visit visas is reduced from BD85 to BD40 while five-year visit visas are reduced from BD170 to BD60. In addition to this, the duration of student visas is expanded from one to five years and diplomatic visas from three to five years.

The changes in prices will take effect from January 2020. The move is a part of Bahrain’s push to increase the number of foreign visitors to the country.
