Bahrain: Driver jailed for negligence

The Fourth High Criminal Court sentenced four defendants to 6 months in jail.

The Lower Criminal Court has sentenced a bus driver to two months behind bars for jumping a red traffic light while he was transporting 55 students aged 10 and 11 years. He was also fined BD 500 for committing the crime.

He was put on trial after he admitted to his offence, revealing that the children were aboard the bus.

The High Criminal Court earlier said in a statement that the defendant was put in detention before he was put on trial over accusations of risking the lives of 55 children.
