Saudi Arabia Announces New Service To Check-in Airport Luggage From Home

Airport passengers in Saudi Arabia will be allowed to check in luggage at home before travelling, following the launch of a new scheme.

MATARAT Holding has launched the “Passengers with No Bags” service across Saudi airports, which offers travellers the ability to ship their luggage ahead from home to any destination and finalise travel-related procedures prior to their flight date.

The service includes all the Kingdom airports and is available on all domestic and international flights.

A new service is set to come into effect in the first quarter of 2024, according to MATARAT Holding.

MATARAT Holding confirms that the aim of providing the service is to ease travel procedures for travellers at the Kingdom’s airports, enhance the travel experience to keep pace with the aspirations and targets of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, cut down airport wait times and limit the carrying of luggage in the airports.

Moreover, MATARAT Holding points out that in order to use the service, passengers must have a confirmed and valid ticket or booking on one of the participating airlines, provide all the necessary travel documentation and have no prohibited items in their luggage.

Also, the service is available for individuals and groups at the Kingdom airports.

The service comes within the efforts of MATARAT Holding to supervise the operational processes of receiving travellers and achieving the highest standards of safety and comfort to ensure smooth movement at Saudi airports.

The Kingdom’s airports are managed by MATARAT Holding, which monitors the operations of 27 airports in Saudi Arabia through its subsidiaries (Riyadh Airports, Jeddah Airports, Dammam Airports, and Cluster 2) to develop the Kingdom’s airports and improve their performance to keep up with the current rapid developments.

This service aligns with the Saudi Aviation Strategy, which comes from the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.
