Bahrain: Expat Nurse Gets Three Years in Jail for Marriage Forgery

An expat nurse who was acquitted of counterfeiting her marriage contract with a Bahraini businessman more than three years ago has now been sentenced to three years in jail.

The High Court of Appeal overturned the verdict after the court verified the witness testimony, providing a video for the incident, passport department report, and the report of the counterfeit expert which proved that the defendant has indeed falsified the marriage contract, planning to share the heirs in the inheritance and acquire Bahraini citizenship.
