Bahrain: Expat Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison For Drug Peddling

An expat was sentenced to 10 years in prison with a fine of BD 3000/- for drug peddling and illegal stay in the Kingdom. Two other accused, an other expat and a Bahraini man was given one-year imprisonment with a fine of BD 1000/-.

The Anti-Narcotics Department arrested the accused as he fell unconscious due to drug abuse inside a shop in Central Manama. On further interrogation, he revealed the source of the drugs which led to the arrest of two other expats.

The Police set up the trap for drug peddlers and caught them red-handed while delivering two rolls of heroin near a residential building in Gudaibiya. The suspects however admitted to the crime of drug peddling in various areas of the capital.
