Bahrain: Expat Woman Lands In Jail For Assaulting Police Officers

An expat woman has been sentenced to three years in prison with a fine of 100 BD followed by deportation for assaulting police officers and destroying property at Hoora police station following her arrest.

Officers on duty received a complaint stating a European woman in an abnormal state was causing a public disturbance.

The expat under the influence of alcohol attempted to flee by leaving a noticeable injury by biting on to one of the police officers hand.

The police officers managed to apprehend the woman after a hot pursuit and escorted her to the patrol vehicle where she used foul language at the officers as they drove her to Hoora police station.

The drunken expat damaged property worth BD 121 during the struggle.

Further investigation revealed that the expat woman was also an illegal resident.
