Higher Education Council Authorities are dealing with 60 cases of forged certificates that are confirmed to be fraudulent while an additional 25 cases have been shown to be suspicious. An official added that Bahrain’s low number compares favourably against many other countries. The official added that a new project is being planned to electronically verify the authenticity of all certificates.

A major investigation was conducted at all government entities to find those who may have used fake degrees to secure their positions. All government entities were also instructed to comply with the Civil Service Bureau’s efforts to verify the educational qualifications of government officials.
