Bahrain: Father Gets One Year Jail Term For Assaulting Policemen

The Fourth High Criminal Court sentenced four defendants to 6 months in jail.

The High Criminal Court announced a jail term of one year for a father guilty of abetting the escape of his criminal son by assaulting two policemen.

The incident took place when two officers arrived in Hamad Town to arrest the accused upon the warrant issued against him.

The policemen apprehended the accused who attempted to flee from the scene.

Moments later, the father began to assault the two policemen until his son was able to escape their grasp.

Eventually, both the father and son were detained by the policemen and presented to the High Criminal Court where the father received jail term for one year and the son received a six-month jail term.
