
The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications’ Meteorological Directorate reported in their monthly weather summary that the month of February 2023 was warmer than normal in temperatures and below-average precipitation.
The mean temperature of the month was 19.7 C which is 1.3 C above the long-term normal for February and this goes on record as the fourth-highest mean temperature for February since 1902. This is the same as in February 2021 and 1960. Note that the highest mean monthly temperature for February was 21.5 C recorded in 1963.
The mean maximum temperature of the month was 23.2 C which is 1.2 C above the long-term normal and this goes on record as the seventh-highest mean maximum temperature for February since 1946. The highest temperature recorded during the month was 29.2 C which occurred on the 24th of February at Bahrain International Airport but recorded 31.7 C on the same day at Bahrain International Circuit.
The mean minimum temperature of the month was 17.2 C which is 1.8 C above the long-term normal and this goes on record as the fourth-highest mean minimum temperature for February since 1946. The lowest temperature recorded was 14.2 C on the 20th of February at Bahrain International Airport but was recorded 12.0 C on the 11th of February at Durrat Al Bahrain.
