Hundreds of people flocked to the popular weekly farmers market at the Agriculture Centre in Budaiya
The Bahrain Farmers Market attracts an average of 10,000 people every week. Forty vendors and 15 restaurants are taking part in the sixth edition, which will run until April 29.
The Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry is organising the market, which will feature three festivals on its sidelines.
They are tomatoes, berries and the Christ Thorn’s (kinar) fruit festivals with the whole market on the day directed towards the theme, whether the produce sold or food prepared.
The market runs on Saturdays from 8am to noon. A special car park has been allocated next to Mohammed bin Khalifa Mosque in Budaiya, with regular shuttle buses heading to the market.
